Gatherings

Nine kinds of evenings.

Small gatherings across Europe: talks, tables, trails, and hack nights. Same spirit everywhere: good conversations, longer than necessary.

Formats

What we organise

Every format is sized for listening, in person or online. Mascots reuse the same animals in different poses where we have art; new formats start with icons until the next illustration lands.

Talks

Talks

One person, one idea. Forty minutes that change how you see something.

Ideas, stories & good people.

Workshops

Workshops

Hands on, screens optional. Leave with something you didn't have when you arrived.

Make something. Learn together.

Dinners

Dinners

A table, a few courses, conversation as the only agenda.

Good food. Better company.

Apéros

Apéros

Drinks and small bites. No stage, no slides, just a room that loosens up.

A glass, a pause, a good hour.

Hack nights

Hack nights

Bring a project, finish a feature. Pizza, pair programming, peer review.

Let's build something cool.

Game nights

Game nights

Board games, card games, the occasional argument about the rules.

Roll the dice. Argue gently.

Outdoors

Outdoors

Walks, hikes, swims. The best conversations happen when no one is watching the clock.

Fresh air, good talks.

Sports

Sports

Football, climbing, yoga, a run: move first, talk in the breaks.

Move together. Catch your breath together.

Typing challenges

Typing challenges

Friendly typing sprints and accuracy rounds. Keyboards, timers, gentle rivalry.

Fast fingers. Slow applause.

Four animals, nine formats: octopus, rabbit, fox, and turtle show up across posts in different scenes.

Take part

How you can help

Sobremesa is just getting started. We need people in the room, people who can host, and people who want to help behind the scenes.

Come along

Follow our Luma profile for upcoming dates. Show up curious, stay for the sobremesa.

Host a gathering

Have a venue, a topic, or a table? We help you shape the evening, keep it small, and stay true to the format.

Volunteer your craft

Design, copy, photography, facilitation, venue scouting. If you want to lend a skill, we would love to hear what you enjoy doing.

Spread the word

Share a post, bring a friend, or tell us about a community we should meet. Word of mouth is how this grows.

Support

Sponsorships

Sobremesa is run by volunteers. We are not a company with an events budget; gatherings happen because people give time, space, and sometimes money. If you want to help us host more evenings, we would rather hear from you than guess what fits.

Ways to help

Financial support

Help cover food, venue hire, materials, or travel at cost. We are happy to be transparent about where money goes and what it unlocks for the room.

Venue or space

A room after hours, a studio, a garden, a table-heavy restaurant. Space is often the hardest line item. Venue partners make new cities possible.

In-kind contributions

Printing, catering credit, equipment loans, promo help: practical gifts that keep an evening running without turning it into an ad.

Something else

Introductions, advice, a newsletter mention, or a wild idea. If it helps the room, we are listening.

How we work with sponsors

  • We name partners openly and explain why they are involved.
  • The evening is the product: not banners, not stage branding, not a hard sell.
  • When tickets exist, they stay at cost. Sponsorship fills gaps; it does not inflate prices.

Tell us what you have in mind: budget, venue, services, or something we have not thought of yet. We read every message.
